The chapters are long and much to read in only 6 weeks which is the length of each quarter. The material is detailed with tons of information but at times the diagrams are hard to follow, but the book is full of great information, really good for people who are majoring in accounting. The book is a bit much for people who have to have take this course per their requirements for their major as is in my case (heal.. Brigham and Houston's text seems pretty informative, but I found myself frequently supplementing this text with additional resources. I also found that some of the concepts presented were not explained clearly or sufficiently enough for introductory financial management students. At best, this book serves as an introduction to new concepts that the reader will need to research further (and, in some instances, much further) on his/her own to develop a good fundamental understanding of financial m..

A good comparison is learning basic math shorthand while using calculators.. I highly recommend this Book for any particular group or educational environment learning or teaching about investments. This is an excellent guide and creative from beginning to end with definitions mathematical formulas and clarity of finances. I am in the process of getting approval from the author and publisher to post and use RSS (Really Simple Syndication)feeds of useful and helpful information on my blogs apps and info sights. There isn't anything special about this textbook because it's pretty standard. Anyone who reads this textbook will have a good study tool for their Finance course. Personally I'm taking Financial Management and it has done a good job explaining all the definitions and formulas I needed to know. If you can it might be better to buy the digital book because it's what I have used most... read/proofread the indonesian translation, if i didnt work as a proofreader i dont think i would read this Explanations and definitions were generally clear.
This is a textbook but it's a pretty good one for basic corporate finance. I thought the examples were clear and really walked you through the formulas, etc. It won't replace a night out on the town but it's good for what it's intended for... Great book, clear explanations and easy to read REread it, an interesting book. Examples are so easy but exercises are indeed a challenge. I understand it and now I can easily teach my juniors but I still can't solve real life problems of TVM (It is so easy to understand the basic concept and formulas but exercise is a bit difficult without solution manual)... An excellent textbook that covers the rudiments of financial management. Assigned for a class at Northeastern University. Corporate financing. Economic principles. Basic business legal codes. CAPM. Banking structures, etc. etc.. Each have an understandable treatment for the lay reader who is just starting out. In my experience in finance a lot of the math is not of much use or out of date. Still useful to know nevertheless.
